How to apply for university accommodation | Vlog
If you're gearing up to start studying at Birmingham City University and moving away from home, then you'll be looking for somewhere to live. Vlogger Tierney in her first year of BCU has been through the process of finding her new home and has tips on what to look out for on the way. Staying in uni accommodation is a great idea for your first year, as Tierney says "It kind of helps you ease in to the student life".

0:43 Your first call is the BCU website, all the info you need is there on different buildings, costs and facilities you can expect. This is where you can first find out what is going to be best for you.

1:25 Take a tour on a BCU Open Day, get a feel for where you will be living. Tierney says "I cannot stress how important it is to go on an accommodation tour".

3:36 Talk to people. Ask around, people living in different accommodation will know more than you about where is best to stay, and what may be best for you.

2:30 Once you have decided where you want to go- it's back to the BCU website and the accommodation portal. Top tip from Tierney- "Apply super early!"
